Why it works
The opening moves from a monumental rider to running soldiers at frame 53, creating stakes before the explanation. A scholar and apparatus in shots 3–4 give the vessel reveal at frame 340 a cause; three views of the craft in shots 5–7 turn it into a destination. The rival turn at frame 877 and fading portrait from about frame 1039 leave the narrated story unresolved.
