Why it works
The impossible first-person claim in shot 1 is answered by the former-self cut at frame 49, creating an immediate origin question. The measured long holds in shots 7–8 give pressure and bargain room, while shot 26 returns to the opening framing before the frame-1909 data-card cut. Speech covers 74% of the film, so phrase-led captions keep an elaborate world legible.
