Why it works
The first 4.4 seconds reveal crop circles within one desert aerial, converting an abstract pattern into a concrete surprise before the first cut. At 0:24 the story pivots to an unfinished water system, then backs the mechanism with pipe footage and a groundwater diagram at 0:28–0:38. City, wheat, bread, and housing images bring the stakes down to daily life; the strongest replay peak at 0:58.5–0:59.1 lands as the price consequence arrives.
