Why it works
The opening withholds a clear location until shot 5 at frame 119 while speech begins over dark fragments, making the audience resolve the metaphor. The mostly locked room and road footage alternates with measured internal reaction cuts at frames 668, 1114, 1427 and 1487; the text arrives late in shot 14, then the closing reactions give the spoken line an aftertaste.
