Why it works
The opening pairs a huge count with moving archival proof by 0:06, then promises a fatal reversal by 0:23. A parallel missing-person story begins at 1:35, making the 2:44–3:14 balloon-release spectacle more than a visual payoff; a roughly 17-second narration gap lets the footage carry it. The film returns to the search at 4:26 and closes the human and record-book outcomes by 5:25.
