Why it works
The overhead mark and hidden figure hold until the cut at frame 44, while speech waits until 2.70 seconds, creating a two-stage reveal. Shots 5 and 6 compress exertion into two 25-frame pieces; the internal cut to darkness at frame 380 resets attention. After the last brief line, shot 8 moves from a face to a distant exit before the frame-685 closing fade.
