Why it works
A globe-to-UK map establishes the subject in the first second, and the narration turns past influence into present-day trouble by about 0:14. The two-speed regional thesis at 1:10–1:28 makes an aggregate economic claim tangible; chapter cards, article headlines, and simple currency diagrams reset the picture through the six-minute excerpt. The 3:16–3:24 replay peak sits on related-video cards, so it is not evidence of a factual payoff.
