Why it works
The film waits 20 frames before revealing the bright result, then pulls that result back into the device in shot 2; the first second's luma reaches 0.58. Eight internal cuts renew the macro imagery while the complete object is withheld until shot 4, and the sign-off fades from frame 1266.
