Why it works
The near-black pulse withholds context until speech begins around 4.18 s, so the witness's first memory reframes the opening image. Shots 7 and 21 last 22.27 and 22.57 s while changing pictures internally; shot 13's measured ×8.24 push turns the recurring light into a revelation. Shot 32 returns to the witness for a direct address before the fade from frame 7163.
