Why it works
The film opens in near silence before the corridor image arrives at frame 19, making the meeting feel consequential. The repeated question in shot 17 pays off with the worker's answer in shot 18, while genuine dark UI proof in shot 19 ties the joke to a product action. Only four of twenty main cuts align with tracked beats, so the dialogue controls the edit.
