Why it works
The bright opening card cuts at frame 15 into the film's darkest exterior, making the display's lighting change immediately noticeable. Shot 2 then holds the exterior camera fixed for 1799 frames while the surface supplies the visual progression; the bright rupture around 40–49 s makes the later hero state read clearly at thumbnail size.
