Why it works
The first 5.7 seconds hold a lone dog against snow while phrase cards state a mirrored beginning/end claim, opening a question the story answers much later. The dog recurs across ritual, journey, and gate scenes; then eight short shots from 1:33 to 1:46 turn an abstract principle into a visible choice. The 0:16.2–0:17.6 replay peak aligns with the threatened puppy and mother reveal.
