Why it works
The first 71 frames withhold the full object behind a rim and surface mark, making the face reveal in shot 3 meaningful. A 14-frame dark dip at frame 293 resets the image, then the 80-frame run of shots 4–6 compresses three finishes before shot 7 opens into a lineup; the sparse card begins at frame 866.
