Why it works
The finished result and three close details appear at frame 0, while the first cut waits until frame 174, giving the viewer time to inspect the promised finish. Hand-swatch proof in shots 4–5 precedes the clean reset in shot 6, and the 471-frame method passage in shot 7 makes the physical contact followable; its internal hard cut at frame 915 changes the action without abandoning the close view.
