Why it works
The 76-frame opening gives the character a name, reply and gesture before the first cut; shots 2–5 then make the later failure surprising. At 40.80 s the film moves into bright product proof, and the 13.13 s shot 23 remains active through a measured ×2.04 reframe and an internal hard cut. The short shots 31–34 make editability visible as individual controls.
